Best hotel in the area for sure. Clean and comfortable and the folks working there are super friendly and helpful. Can't beat the location if you're visiting the universities.
We traveled to Alfred for a college visit and fell in love with the campus, town and the overall cozy comfortable feel of the Inn. We visited in January and found the rooms warm, clean and with all the amenities needed. The front desk staff was helpful, friendly and so welcoming. We hope to return and look forward to our stay.
This was our first visit to the Saxon Inn. They book up fast for all of the special events that Alfred State and AU have so we were lucky enough to get called off the waitlist this time! It was so convenient, clean, and had such an amazing and friendly staff! I hope the next time we visit a room is available because it did not disappoint.
Very friendly and helpful staff! Rooms and bathrooms were clean, and basic toiletries are provided. Beautiful location and good walking distance to Main Street where there is a couple of eateries and a cute coffee shop.
Great hotel on the Alfred University campus. Very convenient for Alfred University or Alfred State College.
Simply lovely. Beds feel like sleeping on clouds. Super clean. Easy reservation. Great on campus location. Unbelievably quiet in the rooms. Nice views out the windows. Good effort to provide continental breakfast during pandemic with plenty of grab and go choices. 24 hour hit water for tea or cocoa. Friendly staff.
If you are visiting Alfred University and can get a room here, you should. Everything on campus is within walking distance. The staff was friendly. Feels exactly like what it is, a small town local hotel.
